The photograph depicts the the third clubhouse of the Singapore Cricket Club on the left. Built in 1884 at the Padang, the original structure was retained as extensions were added on over the years. The Singapore Cricket Club was established in 1852 with only 28 members before expanding to around 3000 members in 1975.
