Ring with square bezel

This is an example of a cast gold ring. A model made with wax was covered with fine clay, and when molten gold was poured into the wax model through an inlet, the melted wax flows out through the outlet to be replaced by the molten gold. Javanese statues depict people wearing usually two rings on each hand and one on each foot. Besides personal adornment, gold was also used to make religious items and as money during this period.
