This bowl is decorated with a central medallion and a border of floral or vegetal design in underglaze black. Kalong wares are characterised by their fine-grained, whitish bodies, wide bases and underglazes of broad strokes often with vegetal or floral designs. They are considered to be among the finest of all Thai ceramics.
