This ceremonial long-sleeved jacket would have been worn by young unmarried women in the Kauer district of the western highlands of south Sumatra. The decorative panels at the front and back of the jacket are embellished with appliqué of shells and tiny mirrors, and they feature geometric motifs weaved in supplementary weft.
