This tubeskirt features a patchwork design on the 'kepala'. The 'badan' is decorated with a diagonally running bands of a mythical animal.Batik cloths from Lasem display a blend of Chinese and Javanese influences. Chinese motifs such as dragons, peacocks, butterflies, golden fishes, peony and chrysanthemum flowers are featured together with Javanese motifs such as ‘parang’ (keris or sword pattern), ‘kawung’ (four symmetric circles motif) and ‘udan liris’(drizzle). The dominant colours of batik Lasem are dark-red, light-brown, green, dark-brown and purple. It is also known for its blend of dark-red which is usually called ‘chicken-blood red’.
