This illustrated page is copied from the original 13th century manuscript, the Aja'ib Al-Mukhluqat – an encyclopaedic work on the marvels of the heavenly bodies, geology, flora, fauna and mythical animals, written by Qazwini (1230-1283). Factual information, as well as myths and legends were included in the book. This page is entitled 'The Intensity of Moonshine' and has an illustration of two moons. The text discusses the intensity of light from the moon under different conditions.
