A famous and well-loved Malay comedian, Wahid Satay first worked as an assistant art director at Cathay-Keris Productions. He was noticed for his sense of humour and was subsequently cast in films. One of his earlier acting roles was in the smash hit Cathay-Keris film, ‘Pontianak’ (1957), which shot him to fame. He went on to star in other hit films such as ‘Satay’ (1958) and 'Badang' (1962).
