This image is of a crawling image of baby Krishna. Generally addressed as Lalji in north India, it is also called the Navaneeta Krishna. The blue-bodied Krishna wears a crimson patterned red dhoti and is shown here holding a butter ball. In this rendition, Krishna is depicted highly bejeweled and with well-rounded proportions. This painting is believed to come from Andhra Pradesh or Karnataka as the proportions and treatment of rounded volume suggests.
