This faceted jar is decorated with an underglaze iron-brown design of abstract floral motifs within panels. The piece was made in Si Satchanalai, one of the twin royal cities in the Sukhothai period from the mid 13th to mid 15th century. Kilns in this region were some of the largest ceramic producers in Southeast Asia at this time.
