For Muslims, a quick and simple burial is usually held after a death. The body is placed in the grave with the head pointed north and the face towards the west in the direction of Mecca. All graves are arranged in a horizontal north-south axis. Tombstones are used to mark the graves, which are usually engraved with the deceased’s name and date of birth and death. Sometimes, a simple low structure is also built around the grave to demarcate it.
