This large covered stoneware jar of cylindrical form and flat base has a broad lotus-bud set on a double flange on the lid. Below the lid is a collar of deeply incised decorations. The shoulder has three applied loop handles. The jar is covered in a pale green glaze over a buff body. This may have been a funerary urn used in a cremation ceremony.Khmer ceramics are noted for their simplicity in design and glazes. Decoration was used in moderation thus allowing for the beauty of the forms to stand out.
