Malay film actor-writer-director Salleh Ghani was born in Johor, Malaysia, on 3 December 1923. He made his acting debut in a Malayan Arts Production film, ‘Seruan Merdeka’ in 1946. He was later hired by Keris Film Productions (later renamed Cathay-Keris Productions) as an assistant director. He was later promoted to director and made his directorial debut in the film, ‘Sri Mersing’ (1961). He passed away in 1986.
