This rectangular, bridal pillow cover was used to decorate the wedding bed, which is one of the largest pieces of furniture in a wealthy Peranakan home. It is decorated with a raised design, worked in sequins and twisted metallic threads, with motifs of a pair of qilins, symbol of virility and flowers in full bloom. The pillow cover is made of green, red, purple, yellow and orange velvet with silver and gold metallic thread embroidery. There are coloured tassels and sequins on all sides.
