This water vessel or kendi takes the shape of a figure with a small head and a large bulbous body, which is covered almost entirely with iron-brown glaze. It was probably made in Si Satchanalai, one of the twin royal cities in the Sukhothai period from the mid 13th to mid 15th century. It was also some of the largest ceramic producers in Southeast Asia at this time.
