This batik sarong has a red ground in the badan or body and a black background in the kepala or front panel. The body is decorated with floral motifs in ochre, white and black while the head is patterned with alternating broad and narrow diagonal bands of floral motifs. This type of sarong is usually worn by women. In Terengganu, batiks are produced with a greater variety of colours to elaborate designs probably to match the appearance of the Javanese batik. Terengganu sarongs are still handcrafted.
