Weft ikat and songket (supplemenatary weft-patterned textiles) are combined in this silk sarong or kain limar, coloured with natural dyes. The head (kepala) of this sarong is richly decorated with golden threads, which form opposing rows of triangles surrounded by a variety of patterned designs while the rest of the textile consists of floral motif. Weft ikat is sometimes referred to as kain limar because of the little dots and dashes that comprise most of the design resembling drops of squeezed lemon.
