This unglazed, baluster-shaped jar has a short neck. Such mass-produced jars were made to store food stuffs such as soya bean paste.Thow Kwang is one of the last surviving dragon kilns or “Long Yao” in Singapore. It was built in 1940. The dragon kiln is still being used by artists to fire ceramic works.
