This circular, green-glazed roof tile is a Shiwan ware. Shiwan kilns, situated to the south-west of Foshan near Guangzhou on China's south coast, were renowned for roof tiles and ornaments, which was known to have been exported to Korea and Southeast Asia. The kilns were also popular for utilitarian wares and religious sculptures as well as for producing figures of folk heroes.
