This seated figure of a deity is decorated in 'liuli' colourful enamels. Liuli wares are decorated with low-fired polychrome glazes that have high lead content. Similar to fahua, which included purple and turquoise colours, liuli colours comprised yellow, green, black, turquiose, purple and cream.The production of liuli ware flourished during Ming period. Liuli craftsmen were commissioned to make decorative and architectural wares that included funerary statues and temple ceramics.
