This dish, also known as 'ceper' (a flat-edged small metal plate or salver) has a scalloped rim decorated with leaf scrolls. At the centre, is a circle decorated with floral motifs. In the Malay Peninsula, plates, trays, and small dishes such as this example are usually shallow and have scalloped rims. The decoration consists of a medallion or a stylised flower in the centre and scrolls or floral design on the flange. They are seldom completely covered with ornamentation.
