Built in 1904, the Victorian-styled Oranje Hotel was originally called the Oranje Building when it served as an annexe to Raffles Hotel. It became known as the Oranje Hotel in 1933 and it was renamed Stamford House after Basco Enterprises acquired it in 1963.
