Bhudevi

This is a stone carving of Bhudevi, the goddess of earth, and one of Vishnu's consorts. Here, she is seen in a characteristic 'tribhanga' pose with one of her legs bent and her upper body leaning forward. Her left arm is broken which would have once held a flower. She is heavily bejeweled and wears a diaphanous drapery with folds. According to the Indian canon of beauty, the goddess is depicted with the ideal proportions - slender upper limbs, wide hips, full thighs and breasts, and a narrow waist.
