North Bridge Road ran from Arab Street to the Singapore River. Extended in 1925, the road thereafter began from Crawford Street by the Rochor River, right up to the Singapore River. North Bridge Road was a major road which for a long time was the only link road between the east coast and the town in early modern Singapore.
