Necklet

This brass coiled necklet represents a fraction of the repertoire of jewellery made and worn by the indigenous people of the Malay Archipelago. Several types of necklets with coiled, plaited and twisted forms were worn. This type is worn by the Kian Dusun community of North Borneo. As gold and silver were expensive and affordable only by a few people, most communities such as the Dusun made theirs in brass.
