This picture shows the Bonham Building, which housed the Katz Brothers store. The brothers started out as shopkeepers in 1865 before embarking on a wholesale and import business. In 1902, the store was replaced by the three-storey building seen here. However, the retail store had to be closed during WWI as they faced problems in getting new stock. The Bonham Building would be demolished in 1970 to make way for the 30-storey United Overseas Bank building.
