This long banner is woven in horizontal patterns of green, white, yellow and indigo blue silk on a red cotton ground. The design typically consists of a range of stylised elements that include different motifs such as Mount Meru (the cosmological centre of the Buddhist world), stupas, soldiers, celestial beings, the earth goddess, Nang Thoranee, and zoomorphic motifs such as elephants, and the 'sang-hong', a mythical long-nosed animal. The end of the banner includes the names of the donors who funded the making of the banner to the temple. The donation of banners to temples was an act of merit-making. They were hung during agricultural and other festivals. Here the inscription tells of the makers - Nang Sida and Nang Lon who made and donated the banner in the Buddhist year 2467 for blessings and to be born in heaven.
