This iconic painting of the first Jain Tirthankara (enlightened being) with his Yaksha-Yakshi (nature spirits) parents is seen seated under a canopy, typical of the Mysore painting of Hindu subject matter. In the foreground, the eight auspicious symbols (conch, knot, fish, lotus, parasol, urn, wheel and victory banner), which are common to Buddhist and Hindu art, are placed.
