‘Chinese idioms in romanized Mandarin with literal and free translations in English’ by Chiang Ker Chiu

This book belonged to local photographer, David Tay. Tay went to study at the famed Fred Archer School of Photography in California in the late 1940s. He came back to Singapore and set up his own photo studio, Westlake Photo Services (named after the famous lake in China), in 1953 at Tanjong Katong. He specialised in wedding photography but also did portrait shots and commercial photography for companies.
