One of the busiest streets in the city, Battery Road was lined with stores and buildings, such as the Medical Hall. Opposite the Medical Hall, just behind Janes Motion & Co. as depicted in this watercolour, lies the Chartered Bank Building, which was completed in 1915 and demolished in 1952.
