This is a painting of the Great Mosque at Mecca, with the Holy Kaaba in the centre.One of the five pillars of Islam, the pilgrimage to Mecca involves walking around the Kaaba as one of its central rites. Pictures of the Kaaba are often hung in Muslim homes and even in shops as a blessing and reminder of the holy site.This is a reverse glass painting, where the image is painted on the reverse side of a piece of glass.
