This painting depicts Jala Vihara of Krishna as Gokulnathji or Madanmohanji (two-armed image playing the flute). Here, Krishna is accompanied by Radha and a gopi (milkmaids). They seem to stand in the middle of a lake full of white and pink lotuses. In the foreground of the painting, the bank of river Yamuna is depicted lined with a row of lotuses growing by the edge. This whole painting has a blue background that tends to depict the painting in an underwater scene or a nocturnal one. Krishna is the eighth and most popular incarnation or avatar of Vishnu, and Radha, his consort.
