This is an unusual wooden lamp constructed using elements from the regional architecture of Gujarat and Rajasthan with motifs such as parrots, peacocks, elephants and creepers. The lamp's entire timber surface is carved with geometric and natural motifs lending a pleasing appearance to the lamp. The lamp is actually fixed on the back of an elephant while a little figure of the mahout is squeezed between the lamp shaft and the elephant’s head. The little lamp holders in four directions on the shaft and in circular formation on the upper most tier seem to have been used in the past and bear marks of soot, oil and lacquer.
