This calligraphic piece features the letter, 'wan'. This piece was written specially for the museum by Mr. Fuat Basar, one of the well-known calligraphies in Turkey today. Calligraphy has always been considered the noblest and most featured art in the world of Islam as it transmits the Divine Revelations of God. From the Ottoman period till today, Turkey has produced one of the best calligraphies in the Islamic world.
