This page comes from a manuscript on astronomy, astrology and history. Written in Arabic, there are 33 pages in the book. The opening begins with a long dedication to one of the Rasulid Sultans, who ruled Yemen for about 200 years. There was a flowering of literature during their rule and it is likely that the author is a member of the ruling clan. The manuscript has a historical section giving the most important events before and after the Hijrah, (Muhammad’s flight from Mecca to Medina). There are tables of location of the moon for various zodiacal events, illnesses of the human body, tables on astrology, orientation to Mecca, waxing and waning of the moon and so forth.
