This headdress, known as a 'siger', comes from the Lampung people in South Sumatra. It has been suggested that the head ornaments of Sumatra are one of the most elaborate in Southeast Asia. In Lampung, there are bridal crowns that turn up at the two sides to resemble buffalo horns. In Palembang, unmarried girls wore gilded combs which are embellished with ornaments in silver or gold that quaver at the slightest motion.
