Born in Las Pinas City, Philippines in 1972, Alfredo Esquillo Jr is an awardee of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artist. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in 1993. Based in Manila, his works explores the social realities in Philippines through the use of imagery and symbols of his Catholic faith. Strongly influenced by the Magic Realists, his style is regarded as photo-realistic.
