Nanyang Chinese school textbook

This school textbook was used in a Chinese primary school in the 1940s. It was published by the Nanyang Shuju Yinhang. There are altogether 28 chapters in the book. Topics include: the brush, paper, printing technology, the building of empire by Huang Di, Confucius, Qin Shi Huang, Han and Tang dynasties, Zheng He, the founding of the People's Republic of China, Victoria Day, religions in Nanyang, Singapore's founder Raffles, Jan Pieterszoon Coen - the man who built Batavia, rubber trees, Cinchona, poisonous plants, characteristics of plants in the tropics, monkey and gorilla, elephant, tiger and leopard, snake and crocodile, birds of paradise, how animals protect themselves, how plants protect themselves, planets and stars, Earth and Moon, and eclipse of sun and moon. At the end of each chapter, there are questions and suggested activities.
