Born in 1973, Mariano Ching is a painter, illustrator, photographer and printmaker. He graduated from the University of Philippines with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. From 2002 to 2004, he undertook a Monbusho research scholarship to study printmaking at the Kyoto City University of Fine Arts. An award-winning book illustrator, he is also a recipient of the Cultural Center of the Philippines Thirteen Artists Award in the year 2008.
