Born in Kelantan, Malaysia in 1969, Ahmad Shukri Mohd obtained a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Mara Institute of Technology, and subsequently became a lecturer there. A member of the Matahati group, he has won numerous awards and exhibited both locally and internationally. His works demonstrate a keen exploration of new materials. He is also well-known for his interest in creating varied surface textures with found objects.
