This ornate object comprising three toe rings interlinked together is known as 'bichiya' (linked ring) in Hindi, 'mettelu' in Telugu and 'metti' in Tamil. Toe rings of this type are usually made of silver and worn in pairs. This example is made of a combination of silver and copper, using repoussé and granulation techniques.
