Vu Dung graduated from Hanoi Fine Arts College in 1980 and is a member of Vietnam Association of Plastic Art Works. Painting primarily in oil and lacquer, Dung has participated in exhibitions held in Vietnam, Eastern Europe, France and the United States. In 1998, Dung also participated in the International Artist-in-Residence programme organized by The Griffis Art Center in the United States. In ‘Memory’, Dung melds dream and reality, each indistinguishable from the other, leaving the viewer with an uncertain interpretation of the lady who has turned her back to a sleeping figure.
