This porcelain lidded teapot has an overglaze decoration on a pure white body with a motif of Sister Jiang. An iconic figure of the Communist Party, she was popularised as a heroine, who sacrificed her life for the Chinese revolution, fighting the nationalist party, the Kuomingtang (1930s-1949). During the Cultural Revolution, her story was adapted to stage plays to promote nationality.
