This tea table belongs to a set that includes a pair of rectangular-back armchairs (see 1999-02651-001, -002). Both the table and the chairs are made of blackwood. The styles and designs of 19th century Fujian furniture were largely adopted from classical examples of earlier ages, but variations exist that reflect the individual tastes of furniture designers.
