This is a seat or tail mat and was usually made of rattan, plaited in patterns of black and yellow. Animal skin was sometimes added to provide better protection wherever the wearer sat. It has a rectangular shape, with a pointed end, measuring between 50 to 80 centimetres in length and about 30 centimetres wide. It was attached to the back of the loincloth. Seat mats were also made for ceremonial occasions and these ones were usually adorned with beads, cowrie shells, bones and feathers.
