This famille rose vase is decorated with motifs of bats amid clouds. Famille rose or pink family is a French term commonly to describe the opaque pink enamel that became popular from the Yongzheng period (1723-1735). The vase is also covered in enamels of red, yellow, purple, blue, gold and green. The bat motif symbolises good fortune while the clouds represent peace.
