The doors are fitted with rectangular lock-plates and pulls, and open to reveal two rows of shelves and two drawers. The use of longyan wood as well as long, rectangular brass plates and pulls indicates the piece originated from Fujian province.Such cabinets were probably used to store smaller sized scholarly accoutrements such as seals.
