Thai Lisu do not use hemp cloth anymore, but rather commercially produced cotton and synthetic materials. The older style outfits such as this one have simple appliquéd strips of cotton on the tunic and apron, while today younger women wear more elaborately decorated tunics, with black trousers and leggings. Men wear blue or green trousers and black jackets, or festive jackets adorned with silver buttons and turbans.
