Costume
This pouch was constructed by sewing the selvages of a piece of narrow cloth. The basic fabric is dyed with indigo and woven in warp-faced pain weave. The width of the cloth is divided into narrow columns by a white stripe and two red-and-yellow stripes (one on each side of the white) by adding extra coloured warp yarns. Geometric motifs are worked in discontinuous supplemetary weft. Very tightly wrapped indigo warp yarn in the colours of red and yellow form the stiff and long tassels at the end of the bag.It was used by men as betel nut container.
