King Chulalongkorn, Rama V of the Chakri dynasty of Thailand

Chulalongkorn succeeded his father, King Mongkut, in the 1870s to become the fifth king of the Chakri dynasty of Thailand. Chulalongkorn was known for modernising the Siamese government, as well as abolishing slavery.
